Lucille, Mark, and Bob Mulholland are the owners and innkeepers of Maison Du Pre', a collection of three restored nineteenth century Charleston "Single Houses" and two carriage houses.
A family of artistic talents, Bob's historic pen & inks, son Mark's pen & ink cartoons, and Lucille's own evocative pastels, watercolors, and oil painting of landscapes and still-lifes are hung throughout the inn and guest rooms, along with French Impressionist prints. Their warm blues, roses, apricots, golds, beiges, and creams are repeated in draperies and linens, creating the feeling you are walking into a French Impressionist painting.
The inn's gracefully weathered frame and brick buildings and sun-washed, flower scented courtyards with three flowing fountains, all surrounded by tall garden walls and wrought iron gates, welcome their guests to step back into early Colonial times and relax.
All rooms have their own private tiled bathroom with brass fittings, antique armoires, oriental carpets and antiques. An Executive Suite, Honeymoon Suite, Carriage House Kitchen Suite and twelve other guest rooms with queen size "Charleston Rice Beds" and pencil-post twin beds, some with canopies, all create the feeling that at any moment Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara may come into view!
